Bilingual Full Stack Engineer

【POSITION OVERVIEW】 We are looking for a driven, bilingual Full Stack Engineer who thrives on ownership and builds solutions from idea to production. This role is about taking problems and solving them end-to-end, from understanding user needs to designing, building, deploying, and iterating on robust systems. You will work closely with product, design, and business stakeholders in both Japanese and English. 【KEY RESPONSIBILITIES】 System Development • Design, build, and maintain scalable full stack applications across frontend and backend layers. • Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code. • Architect data flows and application logic that are reliable under load. • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and sprint planning. Database & API Engineering • Design and manage relational and/or non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar). • Build and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs focusing on performance and security. • Optimize queries, manage migrations, and ensure data integrity. Cloud & DevOps • Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). • Configure CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar). • Implement containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). • Monitor application health and participate in incident response. AI-Powered Development • Use AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to accelerate development. • Prototype and integrate LLM-based features or AI APIs into product workflows. Bilingual Communication & Collaboration • Collaborate with stakeholders in both Japanese and English. • Translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. • Write technical documentation, specs, and runbooks. 【JOB REQUIREMENTS】 Must-Have • 3–6 years of professional experience in full stack software development. • Strong proficiency in at least one backend language: Node.js, Python, Go, Ruby, Java, or similar. • Solid experience with modern frontend frameworks: React, Vue, or Next.js. • Hands-on experience with relational databases and SQL. • Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) and deployment pipelines. • Familiarity with Docker and container-based development environments. • Business-level fluency in both Japanese and English. • Strong sense of ownership and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Nice-to-Have • Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms. • Exposure to machine learning APIs or LLM integration. • Experience working in bilingual or international engineering teams in Japan. • Contributions to open-source projects. • Familiarity with TypeScript, GraphQL, or event-driven architectures.
