Chief Accountant

Job Description A renowned entertainment company is looking for a Chief Accountant. The selected candidate will oversee accounting operations, ensure compliance, manage teams, and drive continuous process improvement. Responsibilities: * Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations, tax laws, and internal group guidelines * Develop, implement, and communicate policies in line with headquarters' standards * Drive process optimisation and efficiency across accounting and related functions * Manage and develop the accounting team, ensuring clear roles, objectives, and performance appraisals * Lead local accounting projects, including system implementations and upgrades * Oversee accurate bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, and timely period closings * Ensure timely and accurate reporting to local authorities and internal stakeholders * Support year-end audits, payroll processing, and effective tax management Requirements: * More than 5 years of relevant accounting experience * Strong knowledge of Japan tax law, local GAAP, and IFRS * Proficient in SAP FI, CO, COPA, BI; ideally HFM * Possess a valid Certified Management Accountant or relevant accounting qualification * Professional level Japanese ; fluent level written and verbal English
