Job Summary

We are seeking a Camera Mechanism Design Engineer to drive the development of in-vehicle camera systems. Responsibilities include technical coordination with clients, mechanism design, prototype development, mass production support, and cross-departmental project management. We are looking for someone with experience in in-vehicle product development, CATIA-based mechanism design skills, and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.

Position Overview: We are seeking a Camera Mechanism Design Engineer to drive the development of in-vehicle camera systems. Responsibilities include technical coordination with clients, mechanism design, prototype development, mass production support, and cross-departmental project management. We are looking for someone with experience in in-vehicle product development, CATIA-based mechanism design skills, and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams. Main Job Responsibilities Customer Support and Project Management • Serving as the primary technical point of contact for customers in the automotive camera development project • Understanding customer requirements and specifications, creating technical proposals, preparing responses including quotations, and managing Q&A responses • Providing customer support during the prototyping, verification, and mass production phases (including business trips as needed) • Coordinating with internal departments such as purchasing, electrical design, manufacturing, and quality assurance • Managing project schedule progress and promoting development activities to ensure deadlines are met Mechanical Design and Engineering • Mechanical design and drafting using CATIA • Creating and presenting technical documents, reports, and presentation materials for internal use and for customers • Collaborating with the purchasing team in component selection and negotiations with suppliers • Design evaluation, prototype evaluation, and implementation of performance improvement measures • Supporting design verification (DV) and validation (PV) throughout the entire product development lifecycle Prototyping and Mass Production Support • Supporting in-house prototype development and assembly work • Creating and managing BOMs (Bill of Materials) and registering the following technical drawings: ○ External view ○ Exploded view ○ Packaging specification drawing • Management and tracking of prototype camera samples developed in-house • Support for manufacturing inspection processes and production line activities • Troubleshooting and problem-solving support during pilot production and mass production phases Job Requirements Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field • Experience in mechanical design and product development (experience in the automotive industry is preferred) • Practical experience in 3D modeling and drawing creation using CATIA • Experience in technical consultations and project coordination involving customer interaction • Knowledge of BOM management, prototype development, and manufacturing processes • Excellent communication and presentation skills • Ability to effectively drive projects in a cross-functional environment Preferred Qualifications • Experience in developing automotive cameras, ADAS, or automotive electronic products • Understanding of manufacturing, quality control, and commissioning activities • Practical experience working with Japanese customers and suppliers Language Requirements • English Level: Daily Conversation Level (TOEIC 475-730) • Japanese Level: Business Level (JLPT Level 2 or N2)
