VMware Migration Engineer

Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Bilingual VMware Migration Engineer with strong expertise in VMware and Nutanix technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, executing, and supporting complex virtualization migration projects from VMware ESXi/Hyper-V environments to Nutanix AHV while ensuring operational continuity and system stability. This role requires hands-on experience with VMware, Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure, migration tools, disaster recovery solutions, and automation technologies. Key Responsibilities - Execute end-to-end migration projects from VMware ESXi/Hyper-V to Nutanix AHV. - Assess existing virtualization environments and develop migration strategies and execution plans. - Utilize migration tools such as Nutanix Move, Carbonite, RackWare, or equivalent solutions. - Configure and support Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure, including Prism Central, AOS, and AHV. - Troubleshoot migration issues and resolve performance-related problems during and after migration activities. - Perform post-migration validation, optimization, and operational handover. - Implement and test Nutanix Replication, Disaster Recovery (DR), and Metro Availability solutions. - Work closely with infrastructure architects and stakeholders to ensure alignment with technical standards and business requirements. - Manage networking requirements related to migrations, including VLAN configuration, IP planning, and L2/L3 networking. - Automate migration and operational workflows using PowerShell, Python, or third-party automation tools. - Integrate Nutanix environments with Active Directory, DNS, monitoring platforms, and CMDB systems. - Prepare migration documentation, including migration plans, runbooks, operational procedures, and known issue documentation. - Support change management processes and maintain accurate reporting and project documentation. Job Requirements Required Skills & Experience - 8+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Virtualization, or Cloud Technologies. - Strong hands-on experience with: VMware vSphere (ESXi 7.x/8.x), VMware vCenter Server, Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI), Nutanix AHV & AOS, Prism Central. - Proven experience in VMware-to-Nutanix migration projects. - Strong troubleshooting skills across hypervisor, virtual machine, storage, network, and application layers. - Good understanding of: L2/L3 networking, VLANs, IP addressing and migration planning, Nutanix Flow Networking. - Experience with Disaster Recovery, Replication, and Metro Availability solutions. - Experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell and/or Python. - Experience integrating infrastructure platforms with external enterprise.
