NLP Research Engineer

Job Description: We are seeking a researcher to advance our core natural language processing technology and make our Mirai Translator service, which boasts a translation accuracy equivalent to a TOEIC® 960 score, even more compelling. [Specific Duties] ■ Technical verification aimed at improving the accuracy and efficiency of machine translation - Identifying research topics through accuracy evaluations of current machine learning programs and interviews with relevant departments within the company - Selecting methods based on academic papers and technical reports in related fields - Implementing the above methods, or researching and obtaining public implementations on GitHub - Accuracy evaluation experiments using the above implementation - Reporting the results of the above experiments to internal stakeholders - Technical verification of new features for the effective use of machine translation ■ Commercialize new technologies in collaboration with related internal departments ■ Lead collaborative projects with external research institutions ■ Outreach activities such as publishing papers [Attractive Points] - Work on technical research aimed at commercializing cutting-edge technologies - Receive feedback from end users and customers through the provision of new technology services such as LLM - Involve in the development of existing services as well as the planning stages of new services - Conduct technology development in collaboration with NTT Laboratories and NICT - Have a great deal of discretion in participating in the SaaS business [Assigned Department] Engineering Department, approximately 18 people [Required Qualifications] - 2+ years of research and development experience in natural language processing or other machine learning fields - Native-level Japanese [Preferred Qualifications] - Experience in coordinating with other departments to advance the practical application of new technologies - Experience developing applications using natural language processing - Development experience using AWS and GitHub [Conditions & Benefits] - Salary: 7,000,000 - 9,000,000 yen (Annual Salary System) - Fully remote work permitted (in principle, limited to Japan) - Benefits: Commuting Allowance, Family Allowance, Housing Allowance, Full social insurance coverage - Holidays: Two-day weekend, 11-20 days annual paid vacation, 130 days annual vacation (2025 results)
