Job Details

Job Description 【Business Overview】 The company researches and develops "Tsurugi," one of the world's fastest RDBs, and other cutting-edge technologies. They provide solutions to clients' data processing challenges through product offerings, consulting, and system development. ■What is "Tsurugi," the World's Fastest-Level RDB? "Tsurugi" is a next-generation, ultra-high-speed RDB (Relational Database) of purely domestic Japanese origin. It was jointly researched and developed with NEC Corporation and various university laboratories under NEDO's (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) "AI Chip and Next-Generation Computing Technology Development for High-Efficiency and High-Speed Processing" project. The company specifically developed "Tsurugi's" core engine. Released as open-source software in October 2023, this database ensures consistency as an RDBMS while performing core parallel processing entirely in-memory. It's lock-free, allowing for simultaneous execution of batch and online processes. It supports standard SQL and provides APIs for development in languages like Java. ■Responsibilities You'll develop systems that tackle data processing challenges previously unachievable with traditional RDBs, leveraging the company's partially developed, world-class, purely domestic RDB, Tsurugi. You'll primarily be involved in projects focused on data preprocessing for technologies that handle large volumes of data, such as AI and IoT. As a system engineer, you'll engage in system development and support for data processing, primarily using Java. (Scope of change: All duties as determined by the company.) ・Requirements definition, basic design, detailed design, implementation (Java), testing, and operations. ・Customer support, including answering questions, providing operational tools, analyzing failures, designing, reviewing, and creating sample code. ・Infrastructure design and construction (cloud/on-premise). *Please note that this role is not primarily client-site based. Depending on your aspirations, you can aim to become either a technical specialist or pursue a management track. ■Development environment Language: Java (main language)/C++/(Python)/SQL DB: Tsurugi (Tsurugi)/others OS: Linux Cloud: AWS/Azure Distributed processing infrastructure: Amazon EMR/Azure HDinsihgt/Hadoop/Spark/Databricks Others: Gradle/AsakusaFW/Git/slack/Docker/Jenkins///BacklogBacklog/BOX/(zendesk)/etc. ■Examples of PoCs Conducted During Tsurugi's Development Here are some real-world examples where Tsurugi was used for proof-of-concept (PoC) experiments: Processing observational data (big data) from outer space at the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan. Utilizing 3D aviation maps during the initial response and emergency relief phases after a disaster. Storing and analyzing large volumes of point cloud data obtained by LiDAR cameras. Collecting and processing telemetry data from 21 Formula cars during races in Super Formula, organized by JRP. etc. Job Requirements 【Required】 ・Java development experience (around 5 years), with the ability to handle design and development independently. ・Experience in business system development using RDBs. ・Experience across all phases from basic design onwards. 【Preferred】 ・Requirements definition experience. ・Basic knowledge of infrastructure and cloud, or experience building it. ・Database tuning experience. ・Having a specific area of expertise in system development.
