Image Processing Engineer

【Your Role】 At this specialized manufacturer of contamination detection systems, you will be responsible for image processing and AI technology development for X-ray and metal inspection equipment used in the food industry. ■Responsibilities ・Development of image processing algorithms and AI functions ・Design and evaluation of image recognition and feature extraction technologies for detecting defective products and foreign objects ・Development and optimization of product classification logic using deep learning ・Development of multimodal AI processing that integrates sensor data and external signals ・Training, evaluation, and deployment of AI models (including edge inference environments) ・Design meetings with internal teams and customers, etc. 【Features】 ・Participate directly in engineering proprietary, in-house systems that command world-class inspection accuracy. ・Engage in a comprehensive development cycle with complete ownership—spanning from initial conceptualization and planning to implementation, evaluation, and iteration. ・Deploy AI and advanced image processing techniques onto physical hardware, making a tangible contribution to global food safety and public health. ・Based permanently in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture with no corporate relocation. Job Requirements 【MUST】 Qualifications: Standard driver's license One of the following is required: ・Experience in image processing programming (OpenCV, C++, or Python) ・Experience in building, training, and evaluating deep learning models (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.) ・Knowledge of and experience implementing image recognition using CNNs ・Basic knowledge of image processing (noise removal, correction, feature extraction, segmentation, etc.) 【WANT】 ・Practical experience in image processing using industrial cameras and sensors ・Experience optimizing for edge devices using ONNX, TensorRT, OpenVINO, etc. ・Experience building machine learning pipelines using scikit-learn, MLFlow, DVC, etc. ・Professional knowledge of quality inspection and visual inspection systems ・Experience using image processing tools such as MATLAB and Halcon ・Knowledge of integration with PLCs and industrial equipment (OPC UA, Modbus, etc.) 【Ideal Applicants】 ・Ability to think critically, take ownership, and act autonomously without requiring constant supervision. ・Excellent communication and negotiation capabilities to collaborate smoothly with internal teams and external clients. ・Possesses a strong sense of creativity and intellectual curiosity, with a constant drive to challenge the status quo and embrace new Japanese Level Business Level(JLPT Level 2 or N2) Chinese Level None 【Benefits & Welfare】 ・Social Insurance: Full coverage included (Health Insurance, Employees' Pension, Employment Insurance, and Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance).
