Financial Accounting Manager

Job Description An international manufacturing company is looking for a Financial Accounting Manager (Japan Finance Lead). The selected candidate will oversee financial closing, statutory reporting, audits, compliance, internal controls, and accounting team management. This is a hybrid role. Responsibilities: * Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes prepared by the accounting team * Review financial statements based on Japanese GAAP and group accounting policies * Act as the main contact for group finance, financing matters, and intercompany reporting * Manage external financial audits and National Tax Agency tax audits * Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, regulatory, and internal control requirements * Lead, coach, and supervise accounting staff while coordinating with outsourced advisors Requirements: * Bachelor's degree or above in accounting, finance, or a related field * Experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting, and audit management * Prior experience with ERP systems and accounting tools * Proven experience managing teams and external service providers * Knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls, and compliance * Familiarity with financing-related processes in a Group or matrix organisation * Proficient in Japanese and English Preferred requirements: * Experience in a multinational or foreign-affiliated company environment * Understanding of Japanese taxation and transfer pricing
